Vision Statement
Everyone at Hollingwood has the right:
to feel safe,
to learn.
be treated with respect.
Aim : To build responsible, resilient and resourceful learners
On behalf of all the staff, pupils and Trustees of Pennine Academies Yorkshire, I am delighted to welcome you to Hollingwood Primary School. I am proud to lead and be part of a dedicated team of staff who place the school at the heart of the community and are here to serve.
Hollingwood Primary is an outward facing school working closely in partnership with parents and a range of organisations to ensure that every child in our care gets the best possible start in life.
Hollingwood Primary is a large 2 form entry school with an on site Nursery and wrap around care facilities. We pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive and nurturing school that has high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils and staff. We are fortunate to have a Resource Provision for children with social, emotional and mental health needs based on the school site.
It is our aim for all our children to be independent learners, demonstrating resilience and an abiding respect for others. Through school we actively promote an ethos of respect and empathy where diversity is valued and celebrated in preparation for taking their place as responsible citizens in modern Britain.
We have a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for all children and strive to ensure that children receive a well-rounded education. We aim to ensure that every child makes exceptional progress academically, socially and emotionally.
We aim to instil a lifelong love for learning through a broad and balanced curriculum, creating a strong grounding for future success.
Not only do our children experience a rich, bespoke curriculum, they also enjoy an exciting range of curriculum enrichment opportunities; including outdoor learning, visitors in school, clubs, trips, sport, music and much more allowing each child to reach their full potential.
We know these experiences are essential in motivating and engaging the children in their learning but also in increasing their knowledge, expanding their vocabulary and developing their character. We want our children to leave Hollingwood with lifelong, happy memories of their primary school years.
I am extremely proud of our school. Visitors often comment on the warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere and how polite and respectful our children are.
I hope you enjoy looking around our website which will give you a snapshot into life at Hollingwood. Please contact us if you would like to know more about our school .
I welcome you to come and visit to see for yourself what a special place the school is.
